Setting The Table For All Iowans Released
We did it! We are thrilled to announce the release of Setting the Table for All Iowans–a roadmap to nurturing a thriving, sustainable, and more equitable food system.
Our Iowa Food System Coalition community consists of more than 40 organizational partners and 600 individuals with professional and lived expertise. Creating a food system plan with the input of so many individuals and organizations will help partners see their work in relation to each other and the whole. It is a tool to help us speak with a unified voice to decision makers, the community, and to each other. The plan holds us accountable to our priorities and objectives, and will give us metrics for determining our success.
What is Setting the Table for All Iowans?
The document is a guide for improving coordination, education and technical assistance efforts, while advocating for reasonable and targeted appropriations to help local food farmers and food entrepreneurs succeed.
Setting the Table for All Iowans breaks down complex issues within the existing system into nine priority areas needing urgent and simultaneous attention.
The plan is a bold agenda to find and implement solutions for an Iowa food system that will support the health and wealth of all Iowans.
